Viva performs with Via Choralis Chamber Choir and orchestra in April 2011

 

FOR AGES 7 to 9:

In the Junior level singers develop musical literacy and other skills utilizing Kodaly principles. These groups are open to all singers in the age range without audition.

  •  Junior Choir Victoria            conductor: Sarah Quartel          Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:20 pm
  •  Junior Choir West Shore      conductor: Arlene Overman     Wednesdays, 6:00 – 6:50 pm

FOR AGES 9 TO 12:

In the Intermediate level singers explore international art and folk music while developing skills in unison and part-singing plus musical literacy.  Open to all with a placement interview.

  •  Boys and Girls Choirs         conductor: Sarah Quartel         Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
  •  West Shore Choir                 conductor: Arlene Overman     Wednesdays, 7:00 – 8:30 pm

FOR AGES 12 TO 17:

In the Senior level singers explore classical and international repertoire while developing skills in unison and part-singing. Admission is by audition. Sopranos and Altos also rehearse separately as the Viva Chorale, while Tenors and Basses also form the Young Men’s Ensemble, Victoria’s only community-based boys’ choir for changing and changed voices.

  •  Chamber Choir                    conductor: Nicholas Fairbank     Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Interviews and Auditions.  A placement interview (or audition for the Chamber Choir) can be arranged by contacting the office. Find out if you’d like to join one of Viva’s boys, girls or co-ed groups, beginner to advanced—West Shore Choir, West Shore & Victoria Junior Choirs, Boys & Girls Choirs, or auditioned group: Chamber Choir, including Young Men and Chorale — something for everyone aged 7 through 17 years.
